REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Click here to select which distance you would like to enter. You will then be taken through to the entry portal. After filling in your details and making a payment, you will receive a confirmation email.

Firstly, check your junk e-mail folder as it is possible that your confirmation email may have landed there. If you still cannot find it, please email info@omanbyutmb.com and we will re-send it to you.

You do not need any qualifying points to take on the AHM: 50KM race.

In order to enter the JBA: 100KM you will need a minimum of 3 points, which must have been gained in one single race between 01/01/2017 and 31/10/2020 (i.e. you cannot enter if you have amassed 3 points over multiple races).

In order to enter the JBS: 150KM you will need a minimum of 4 points, which must have been gained in one single race between 01/01/2017 and 31/10/2020 (i.e. you cannot enter if you have amassed 4 points over multiple races).

You will be asked to confirm which races you have previously taken part in and the system will verify you meet the entry requirements before your place in the event is confirmed.

GENERAL RACE INFORMATION

With the new qualification criteria for UTMB in Chamonix, runners completing the 100KM or 150KM distances in Oman (within the barrier time) will bypass the lottery and have a guaranteed entry for UTMB 2021. For further information about qualifying for UTMB 2021 in Chamonix please click here.

Completing the 150 and 100 KM races earn you running stones and once you have enough running stones, you can avoid the lottery on UTMB Mont-Blanc. But the rules are different from one race to another, as follows:
• UTMB: In 2021 you will need 18 running stones to register without going through the lottery (and you’ll need to have your qualifying points)

• TDS: In 2021 you will need 15 running stones to register without going through the lottery (and you’ll need to have your qualifying points)

CCC: In 2021 you will need 15 running stones to register without going through the lottery (and you’ll need to have your qualifying points)

OCC: In 2021 you will need 12 running stones to register without going through the lottery (and you’ll need to have your qualifying points)

Also note that :

• Completing JBA 2020 will give 15 running stones, so it would allow you to register to the TDS, CCC or OCC.
• Completing JBS 2020 will give 18 running stones, so it would allow you to register to the UTMB, TDS, CCC or OCC .

 

Runners will be contacted directly before the opening of UTMB Mont-Blanc registrations so they are aware of the process.

Please view the Race Rules for a complete list of mandatory and recommended equipment the JBS / JBA / AHM.

The following mandatory equipment is required for both the JBS: 150KM and JBA: 100KM races:

  • 1 x pack for the carrying of the mandatory equipment.
  • A minimum water carrying capacity of 2 litres
  • Food reserve
    (Recommendation : 800kcal = 2 gels + 2 energy bars each of 65g each)
  • 1 x mobile / cellular smartphone:
    • international roaming allowing for its use in Oman or with a local sim card ;
    • Has the number visible and not masked ;
    • Has the event emergency number programmed into its memory ;
    • Keep the phone on at all times ;
    • Keep fully charged with a spare battery and/or charging pack ;
  • 1 x personal cup 15 cl (150ml) minimum ; (Bottles or flasks with lids will not be accepted)
  • 2 x torches in proper working order with spare cells/batteries for each torch ;
    (Recommendation : 200 lumens or more for the main torch)
  • 1 x survival blanket of 1.40m x 2m minimum ;
  • 1 x whistle ;
  • 1 x self adhesive elasticated bandage which can serve as a bandage or strapping ; (Minimum 100 cm x 6 cm)
  • 1 x warm second layer top with long sleeves (cotton excluded) of a weight of a minimum of 110g (Men’s size medium (M))
  • 1 x durable water repellant (DWR protection) windproof jacket ;
  • 1 x sunglasses
  • 1 x saharan cap / hat or any combination which completely protect the head and nape of the neck
  • High factor sun cream
  • Trail running shoes appropriate to abrasive terrain.
  • ID – passport/ID card
  • Proof of Personal Accident Insurance.
    (Insurance card or document with insurance details)

Aid stations will be located along the route for each race. The Aid Stations will provide specific food and beverages, the exact content of which will depend on the location of the Aid Station on the route. Designated Aid Stations will also offer rest facilities for runners.

Food and beverages at the Aid Station will include:

  • Water, coke and energy drinks
  • Energy bars and gels, cereal bars
  • Soup
  • Salt biscuits and sweet biscuits
  • Cake, cookies and chocolates
  • Dried fruits, peanuts
  • Bananas and oranges
  • Bread

CANCELLATION/TRANSFER OF REGISTRATION

A participant wishing to cancel a registration must do so in writing to info@omanbyutmb.com. No cancellation of a registration will be accepted by telephone.

The reimbursement of registration fees will be made by partial re-credit to the bank account associated to the credit card used at the time of registering, as follows:

Before 15 June 2020: 60% Refund of registration fee

16 June 2020 – 15 July 2020: 50% Refund of registration fee

16 July 2020 – 31 October 2020: 40% Refund of registration fee

 

REGISTRATION CANCELLATION GUARANTEE

A cancellation guarantee is available to any person at the time of registration for any of the races. Should a participant wish to take the cancellation guarantee this will be added to the cost of the registration at the time of registration.

JBS: 150KM and JBA: 100KM

Cost of Cancellation Guarantee :               15€ Per registration

AHM: 50KM

Cost of Cancellation Guarantee :               9€ Per registration

The objective of the guarantee is to completely refund the registration fee, in the case where a participant requests to cancel his registration because of one of the following reasons:

  • an accident, a serious illness or the death of the participant themselves;
  • a serious illness necessitating hospitalisation or the death of a spouse or common law partner, or close relative in the thirty days preceding the event;
  • The pregnancy of a registered participant, or the birth of a child in the 15 days before or after the race.

The request for reimbursement should be sent with all supporting documentation to info@omanbyutmb.com.

Registration may not be transferred to another UTMB event or to another person.

EVENT MEDICAL AND INSURANCE

It is mandatory for each competitor to be in possession of personal accident insurance which covers the full cost of search, rescue, evacuation and medical treatment in Oman.

All participants are required to complete a medical certificate in order to participate in any of the races for the event. These certificates are available during the registration process.

If you did not complete your medical certificate during registration, you can do so by downloading here:

Once completed, you can upload your medical certificate here  by entering your family name and registration number exactly as they appear in the confirmation email that was sent to you at the time of registration. Please note that medical certificates sent by email will not be accepted and must be submitted using the link above, by no later than 20th November 2020.

 

Please refer to the section below regarding the validation of your medical certificate.

  • Medical certificates that are submitted should be in the same format as provided during the registration process – and also found in the links under the sectionAre there any medical requirements in order to enter the OMAN by UTMB®?”Any modifications made to the certificate (in any form) may render the certificate invalid and it will not be accepted.
  • To ensure their validity, it is mandatory for all medical certificates to be dated and signed within 1 year of the event date (anytime from 3rd December 2019) and they must be either stamped or include the professional number of the doctor.
  • Any medical certificates uploaded in a different template to that which is provided by the organisers (i.e other UTMB event certificates) must include the same statement as written in the official template and also fulfill all of the conditions listed above in order to be accepted as a valid document.
  • Medical certificates sent by email will not be accepted and must be submitted  here by entering your family name and registration number exactly as they appear in the confirmation email that was sent to you at the time of registration, by no later than 20th November 2020.
  • Any medical certificate that does not fulfill the conditions above will be marked as invalid and you will be required to upload it again, in the correct format.

ELITE RUNNERS

In recognition of athletes of a high calibre, and for fair management of registration, the event reserves a small number of places for elite athletes.

An elite athlete must have a general ITRA performance index data greater than 800 (Male) or 700 (Female).
